RM of Happy Valley’s story
The Rural Municipality of Happy Valley No. 10 sits in the southeast part of Saskatchewan, right along the United States border, with Daniels County and Sheridan County in Montana as its neighbours to the south. It incorporated as a rural municipality on January 1, 1913.
Within its boundaries is the organized hamlet of Big Beaver, where the municipal office is found, along with the localities of Big Muddy and Palsley Brook. A municipal council and an appointed administrator run the RM's affairs, meeting on the second Tuesday of each month.
The area's past is also kept in three places listed on the Canadian Register of Historic Places: the Sam Kelly Sites, a Buffalo Effigy, and the Paisley Brook School.
